CAYIN Technology confirms the final firmware release for five legacy CMS server builds, running on Ubuntu 16.04 or Ubuntu 18.04, across CMS-WS, CMS-SE, CMS-60 and CMS-20. CMS-WS and CMS-SE continue to be actively developed on CAYIN's current platform, built on Ubuntu 22.04. This closes a well earned chapter for these older builds. Customers who prefer not to upgrade can keep running their current system exactly as before, with no impact on daily operation, while those who want ongoing new features and updates have a clear way to move forward.
From this point on, CAYIN's R&D team will direct every new patch and feature toward the Ubuntu 22.04 platform. These five legacy builds have now reached their final supported version. This is a natural step for builds that have served customers reliably for years, and it gives every customer a clear, well supported destination to move to.
The following builds are now confirmed as the last supported release for each model.
Customers still running one of these five legacy builds can move to CAYIN's current CMS-SE or CMS-WS, both built on Ubuntu 22.04. The newer platform carries every improvement CAYIN has made since, along with ongoing firmware and security support.
Because the current platform requires a fresh installation rather than an incremental update, this move is not something a customer can complete alone by clicking update on the old server. The CMS server needs a new installation of Ubuntu 22.04 on new or existing hardware.
